Very nice image. I think it would have been stronger though without the man at the end of the pier facing away from the viewer. The very strong horizontal lines of the wall point your attention at him and the motorbike, instead of at the lovers. If you crop the image just past the last flagpole, I think you'll find it a much stronger image.
Hm... actually, Thomas, I kinda like the juxtaposition of the couple and the man. I do have to say, however, that just looking at that couple makes my backside hurt! haha I hope they had a blanket!
It's interesting how different people can look at the same image and see completely different interpretations. To me, the solitary man at the end of the wall contrasts with the lovers in an embrace on top of the wall. This to me is what makes this image. It is obvious from the framing that the photographer intentionally included both the lovers and the man, and I believe this tells a completely different story (a more powerful one) than the lovers alone would. Good Work.
I agree completely with brandonjscott. Without the guy at the end of the wall you have a nice but stereotypical photograph of a couple in love in an interesting location. With him, in his solitude and indifference to what's going on behind him, you have a powerful statement, much much better I think.
