Thank you all-- you're very kind and generous with your comments.

Thom, the dark cup-shaped object in the lower RH corner is the seed pod that remains after the blossom (incredibly beautiful) has faded and the petals fallen away. Each dark hole contains a seed. The seeds are used in Chinese cuisine to make sweet cakes and desserts.

Jan, I hope you do go out to photograph what you had in mind because you never know what surprises you'll find. This one was a pleasant surprise. The surface of the water on this pond was actually quite turbulent because of an aeration/recirculation fountain. The milky effect in the water was the result of a 30 second exposure averaging out all of the small waves, which also softened the leaves more in contrast to the leftover stems.

Shawn, believe me- I have sheets and sheets, binders even, of dud negatives. I'm a bit more parsimonious with the prints, since paper is getting more expensive. I still have to feed the family.

Ilya, this print is on 8x10 paper from a cropped 6x6 negative.

Thank you all again for taking the time to look and comment.

All the best,
Daniel

I'm not a big fan of stills or nature prints but your work keeps pulling me in. Mesmorising and collectable!

gorgeous Daniel.
