Cool. I love the bag shape the lotus takes on from this angle. The direction of the lighting really adds to the three dimensional quality. Nicely done. doc
Your photo is an example of why I love photography over painting. As you have shown, a photograph can show us what someone called "every accident of light and shadow." It's that endless detail that I love and I also love photographing leaves! Keep it up, friend. Well done!
Thank you everyone for the kind remarks. It has been interesting to watch the transformation of this leaf from a vibrant orderly structure to a more chaotic, yet still beautiful form. All the best, Daniel
Thanks, Ryan, for pointing out all those dust specks from a friggin dirty scanner . I can't seem to find a way to keep the darned thing free of dust, and I'm not going to waste my time photoshopping them out. Now, if they were on the negative, that would be a different story- thankfully they're not pinholes. All the best, Daniel
Daniel, I have to commend your technique, which is startingly good as usual. It is probably my personal taste, but I can't find the leaf attractive. I'm glad so many others do, however, and obviously I'm the odd one out. I think you mastered making the most out of the situation, and your print is remarkable.
