In the tidal salt marshes, finding trees is rather rare.

I've become a fan of the deep yellow #15 filter and Cokin P GND. I just acquired a 'wide angle' Cokin filter holder that has fewer slots. Even so, with the 45mm, the corners were vignetted, but I expected that and didn't put anything important where I assumed I'd have to crop.

Solitary tree(s) scenes make for excellent photographic subjects. This is a wonderful example. The placement of the supporting items of the water, bare FG, and the grasses all add to this image nicely. Obviously the cloud formation is a big plus too.

Thank you, Michael and TI. When the land is as flat as it is here, clouds serve as hills and mountains that, as you suggest, Michael, can change by the hour.

A beautiful balance of tonal qualities within a superb composition.

Vignetting on Florida landscapes actually helps brings the person into the photograph. So from what I see a little more would probably be good. There is too much of the same tone in the foreground and sky making it a little flat. darken and selective bleaching would be a good way to go.

Thank you Ned, michael, and dasBlute. I made this photograph two days ago. It's the kind of image that takes a while to percolate regarding values and mood and how best to express what's there...more drama, less drama, more ominous or less so, more contrast or not too much...it takes a while. I appreciate the suggestions. '
