Looks like the frontispiece from some moody Victoria novel - maybe someone close to the Brontes. The handsome sullen hero is just about to appear through the trees.
Love it! (Love Victorian novels too.)

Thanks all for your kind comments! This location was long a favorite of mine --- to walk around and relax. I often put in my kyak by the pictured cypress tree. Now it's the site of a huge biker bar, "Spokes." The days of quiet solitude by this stretch of the sleepy river is gone. V-r-o-o-o-m!
