Very nice image. Would like to see the same shot in winter, just to see how beautiful the valley looks in snow. What did you rate the film speed at for this one and did you use a filter? tim
It should be possible to get up there early in the winter, which normally is about right now. Later on it becomes more difficult. The reason all the buildings are in a cluster right where they are, is that the rest of the valley floor is filled by avalanches. There's a 1600m /one mile) altitude difference between the valley and the mountain tops, so the avalanches get a nice good runup to achieve terminal velocity (pun not intended, but I'll leave it in).
I don't know what the road is like in winter, but one of my worries before the meeting was ice on the little ford.
This one captivated me - just love looking at it! Not a very technical critique, I know - but... "I just like looking at it" just sums it up for me! Lovely.
.........And you know, if you're worried about driving up there in the winter, you can always look up your hugely talented countryman, Petr Solberg - I have no doubt he would get you there!
