One of the brass switch assemblies in a control box for operating the lock gates on the Erie Canal, would have preferred overcast conditions, but when you are there you shoot it - even in bright sunlight.
Love this, including the light, it does what metal surfaces should do and clearly reveals the polished surfaces for what they are, and the brass with their unique tone. Once again as all your photos my first reaction was to the precision with which you lay down an image on a ground glass. I really appreciate and respect that as a reminder to me how to do a photograph right. And, machinery, oh the machinery subject...
