Local Pond, Trees, and Shadows

While setting up this photograph a duck trotted into the scene, quacked, sat down, and upon not hearing the shutter click, got up and moved, quacked and sat down again. This happened several times as he moved from l to r across the ground glass. He then, upon still not hearing a shutter click, did the same from r to l several times. I obliged at that point, and gave him a resounding shutter click. He moved away at last. It was the most bizarre experience I've ever had making a photograph. I do have a shot of him..the last one I took, but he just doesn't belong in the final print. Oh well....what the duck.

Very nice, John! And an interesting story too. I enjoyed the last few images you posted - all have been excellent.

Thank you for sharing.

The first thing I thought when I saw the thumbnail in the sidebar was, "this shot could use a duck," but otherwise it's a nice shot.

Compositions aside, which are excellent, I love pondering your edges and corners...it's obvious you take great care in positioning your camera. This last page in your personal gallery is a consistently really strong, yet eloquent vision. The ducks got refined tastes
