Is the stick completely horizontal in his hand and only about 10-12 cms long? I think I can see this at 175% magnification but if it is the stick it blends into the background of the dark stone in the wall behind him

Yes, it is. It is right below the top of the two horizontal parallel black markings on the wall. I only made a 5x7 print and I can only distinguish it with a magnifying glass

That's why I think that when I print it on 8x10, I'll probably be able to see it or dodge it a bit to make it stand out.
