Thank you all for taking the time to respond to this print! I am glad that I am not the only person that likes this image.
Marc: I couldn't get a bigger compliment. However Corbijn seems to get more "grey-values" in his skintones... I will investigate that further as the skintones in this image are "just on the edge" I think. I also have to investigate what further (selenium) toning will do to another testprint... as I didn't get the chance to tone it yet.
Carl: The first session I stuck to one negative, so I have more prints (5) but this one is the best (in my oppinion). I think with lith-printing you cannot do many negatives as the developer quickly exhausts and there is a continues change in the way te picture turnes out (with this paper it gets more pink towards exhaustion I think).
Thanks Svend! I totally understand what you mean; personally I quite like the lithy-appearance at her chin, neck and hand... if it wouldn't be there it would appear too much as a "regular print" in my view. But don't get me wrong... thanks a lot for your elaboration!!
Excellent!
Svend is right about the dodging. It can just cause the dodged areas to progress to black later than they otherwise would, so at your snatch point they still haven't reached black yet. It's quite easy to do, but I think that here it quite suits the image and the Goth genre, that's just opinion though.
Wel done
Tim
