Great composition and metering for a 'cinematic' look. I've found that coming back to older negatives after a while often means I have a more "objective" view of them, not so wrapped up in the new or disappointed by a frame that didn't match my original expectation.
This is a great picture Colin, but a strange format size or crop. I copied this to photoshop and cropped it to about 35mm ratio on the right, which I think works much better. But only my personal opinion.
If you're familiar with the Hasselblad XPan, the format is what the camera produces. For me I was interested in, as Tom astutely put it, a more cinematic look --- I was interested in including more elements for a 'story'.
Interestingly, it was this 'story telling' that I noticed immediately upon looking over the negatives from that 12 year old trip. Looking left to right I saw different elements told in sequence but also linked together in a single scene...that was interesting to me.
