In 2009 I spent a lot of time with some friends photographing Wineries. I loved the old walls and the way the light played with the space, the old wood and the stainless steel of modern equipment or the unoccupied spaces and random items the workers left behind.
Thank you! Sadly, no. Not while "on the job", anyway
And that's a funny story there.
When I first approached some of the wineries' management to gain permission to photograph the sites, they were initially reluctant to agree. I quickly understood that they thought we were trying to sell them our photos. As soon as I assured them that we were only interested in having access, that the photos were for our own personal portfolios, they basically gave us the keys and told us "come whenever you want".
So we usually went on the weekends, when we had free time. That meant we usually had unattended access to the whole place, and although helping ourselves to some wine would absolutely have been possible, we would never have done it, as it would have been a huge violation of the trust we had been given.
