The environment, rough industrial walls. I did not want to use Rodinal as it would be too grainy at 1600. I needed good skin tones but not too creamy or soft, to match the roughness of the walls. If I had chosen a "softer" combination I would have had a dreamy looking model, and this was not my intention. Hence Ilfosol sounded like a good solution, as the grain is small and compact. However, if you ask me, I would not push HP5 to 1600 anymore.... and for Ilfosol, there are better solutions....
Thanks, I was surprised at the detail, I've pushed HP5 to 800 I think in Ilfsol 3 but nothing with this softness it's nice but also it's 800ish pixels so can't zoom much, thanks for the feedback.

Oh no, with HP5+ you cannot go wrong.. The details are always there.... but the grain gets in the way beyond 800 ASA...At least this is what I've experienced... no matter what dev you use...
