I wanted to try and record some of the details in the beautiful build quality of my Leica II. Using a Hasselblad 500C with a S-Planar 5.6 120mm T* Macro lens and 88mm tube set, I photographed it in my darkroom on a black velvet background. The film was Fujichrome Velvia 50. Here are 5 of the shots.
Thanks for documenting and sharing this. It is indeed beautiful build quality, even though it shows the wear of time. This quality is unfortunately gone forever.
I agree, they are a wonderful tactile instrument, and the patina actually helps. I haven't seen an old Leica with open-close before, it's usually in German..Auf-Zu.
