Ledges

4x5 silver contact print

More from 3 sunrise trips to Nelson Ledges over the last 3 weekends. This was made from atop a rock in one of my favorite areas. Normally I try to avoid the light coming through the trees but I thought this formation's relationship to the canopy was especially interesting.

Thanks you fellows!

I was initially attracted to that black form, Peter. I gave the neg enough exposure to keep detail there, I tried dodging it in one print but just didn't have the same impact as the prints with the strong black shape. I just can't get enough of these places, I'm especially looking forward to spending some time there in the winter.
