I've always been jealous of the wood guys. What they make is usually beautiful, warm-looking. The metal guys may do amazing stuff, but few will say its beautiful.
Yes, looks like a well exposed and developed photo. I too, like old machinery. Used one of these in the college machine lab. back about 1958. My project was a model airplane engine, 1.5 CI. Got a good grade in that class. Instructor wanted to give me a "B", but said if it would run, I'd get an "A". Got my "A". In the lathes original day, the shop line shafts were probably powered by a steam engine just outside.
Thx again, bsd. I dove in late when modifying and maintaining some toys involved some expensive and proud craftsmen. 'Still have a 13x24 gear head in the garage that keeps pestering me for a vertical mill to love.
