Photo taken of Least Bittern. They may be the smallest of the heron family, only about 12" tall. Least Bittern pointed out by birders in Everglades NP. These are very secretive birds. If you look closely, the Bittern is supporting itself on only 1 reed indicating how small and light they are. I believe this may be a female. Even the Leica f5.6 800mm Modular Apo Telyt lens was insufficient. I also required the Leica 1.4X Apo Extender. Thanks to Leica Camera, USA for the loan of the f5.6 800mm Modular Apo Telyt.
