Layered Prairie

While shooting with the old and funky lensed cameras lately, I have been reminded of the need to concentrate on the image as you build it in the viewfinder. I find as you move focus forwards and back especially when shooting wide open, that you can often see more than at first glance. It sort of uncomplicates everything and breaks them down into simple tones, patterns, layers if you will. The fall off, swirly bokeh all change as focus moves. I am finding it quite liberating to shoot this way and avoid the clutter that sometimes occurs in shots with too much sharpness front to back.
Apologies for the spots.... the scanner was cleaned and wiped twice, but the dust still gets in!

That is really really beautiful! You're so in tune with this camera and I love your results. You're doing awesome work.

Thanks guys... Shawn the top was actually a by product of the lens/camera signature. This believe it or not was a STRAIGHT print! The way the flaws and vignetting occurs produces a really pleasing balanced look and creamy mid tones.

Wonderful image. One of those prints that highlights that beauty is in the simplest of things. I would really like to see this as a large print. Thanks

this is really nice Andrew, I think the new camera is having the desired effect! TFS Steve

Hmmm....dreamy. I almost bought a Great Wall to replave my Seagull a while back then settled for the Rocofflex. Now I may have buyers regret ;-)) This is great and I love your toning choices. K

Lovely abstract quality to this shot Andrew and the fall off in light is an extra bonus.

Cheers
