17 second exposure at the beach with big rough waves. Hasselblad, 50mm lens and Fuji Across 100 film. Was looking for the dress to do what it did perfectly at the bottom there. I wish she wasn't looking at the camera actually. Also I would prefer a less contrasty sunny day. Next time :)
Is this a night shot in strong moonlight? If it is daytime and with what appears to be fairly strong sunlight then without a filter and using Acros I'd have expected about 1/25th max at f10 so 17 seconds is more than 8 stops overexposed but this looks about right. Am I missing something?
@pentaxuser Bright daylight with a 10 stop filter. It was the only sunny day we had in two weeks and I wanted a more high cloudy kind of day but if Lauren can shoot you go for it. The exposure was 60th of a second at f10 according to my digital camera because my hand held meter battery died. Add the 10 stop filter and that brings it to 17 seconds. I tried to make sure that I put her face in the shade to avoid harsh shadows under her eyes and then to also have her face exposed well. I based the exposure on her mostly. Honestly i was scared i might mess this up because i am so used to using the meter not the digital camera but it worked. Also this is a scan of the negative not a print but it looks pretty accurate to the negative. I am not a good scanner person I have no idea how people get good scans.
Thanks Terry. I had seen "f 10" in your details and had assumed this was the aperture setting. I should have thought about what is a strange f stop setting and realised it wasn't an f stop but a 10 stop filter
The only scanning I can do near the sea is the horizon from the beach
