Last Valley Light, YNP, 2006

A 4x10 platinum/palladium print, taking advantage of the last sunlight on the Yosemite Valley floor. Yosemite Falls in the background.

Pentax Digital Spot readings from 5 to 13+, taken at 7++

This is the first time I have gotten rid of the bit of a notch one sees (except for rediloads) when printing sheet film full-frame. It was in the lower right hand corner and very distracting with the thin light line of grass along the bottom. I took a razor blade to the neg and scrapped off the emulsion.

Nicely done. I love the subtle tones, and understated contrast between the foreground trees and the background elements. And I agree with Argus, the framing really works very well.
