Please keep trying. Remember that camera placement and the circumstances at the time of shooting are so vital to the photo's achieving what you wish. Imagine if you will that Ansel Adam's had taken his well known photo of Hernandez New Mexico an hour earlier. Imagine that he had taken his photo from the other side.
Imagine how damned lucky Ansel was to be there at that moment and to have prepared himself though dedication to his craft and having his gear available and the facility to respond with alacrity.
TEX : this is a straight scan and I did not want to "digitally enhance" my scan, to comply with the forum rule. I'm not sure about the red filter, but this is what I wrote on the exposure sheet. Note also that the sun is right in the picture (top left) and that does not help. I'll try to scan again.
Claire : Thanks for your remarks. Unfortunately, I will not be back there until (hopefully) next year, so it may be hard to repeat this one. I tried to wait long enough for the plane to be at the right place, but am afraid I waited too long. I have to confess that I was exhausted after a long shooting day, which is something I should also improve in my craft.
