I like it. You have his wonderful face. But it becomes just a guy, not an artist.

I prefer this version as I thought that the back of the armchair was an intrusion in the original shot. He has a great face with a look of kindness emanating from it.

What explains the difference in colour? Is this just a scanning issue or was the earlier one toned?Thanks

I cropped another photo that had no toning.

The warmer tone of the other one works better for me with perhaps a tighter crop than this one. How about just below the first jacket button, the top of the corner darker grey above his head and shoulder width on each side.
