Much simpler than all that. I have a tri-pod mount sewn into a bean bag, such that I can mount any camera and it will stay on the dash. A cable release is use to fire the shutter.

John,
Over the past week as I viewed your work I kept thinking, "he sees things like I do." Although I have not posted them, I have so many pictures that related to pictures you take. For example, your two pictures from the cafe table - - every time I sit at a table like that, I usually - to the annoyance of my wife - take pictures of the arrangement of salt and pepper shakers, glasses, people's hands and so on. The unusual views you capture are also keen to me. I get them right away. Same thing with "waiting rooms".
Now, as to "roads" I literally have hundreds of photos like the one you just commented on. I LOVE roads, bridges, big highway trucks tumbling along them, for me that IS the "landscape." I almost never take a landscape photo that doesn't contain man's additions and his machines. A hundred years ago guys would take photos of a heard of buffalo. Today, I see a group of huge trucks rumbling and I think of them as the modern herd of buffalo.
In the end, everything in in the photo are just shapes, colors, lines to be arranged in a composition that will look nice when flattened into 2-dimensions. Truck or Buffalo, makes not much difference to the composition.
everything is waiting to be photographed as far as i am concerned
there is a lot of interesting stuff all around us, we don't have to go far ..
and your perspective about trucks cars and buffalo is spot on.
its a herd on a asphault field
i had this gig years ago documenting bathrooms at army and navy facilities
nothing like an explosion proof soap dispenser
