Thanks, Scott. I think this is one of the more conventional from this series. Do think this is pushing it from the stand point of the subject, or the vision, or both?
Hey Richard, Didn't see you post until today. In the case of this particular picture, I don't think the subject matter is pushing it since there are lots of great pictures out there of rocks, bushes, trees, etc... I was speaking about your more recent work in general - the vision. I believe I see the influence of Robert Adams in some of this work (perhaps I'm wrong), but some of it is very strong. In particular, the bushes from Joshua Tree, 2006 is a wonderful photograph (they all have the same title, I'm referring specifically to the first one you posted which currently has no comments). This work is probably a bit innacessable for most folks, but you're clearly working through something on your own - not just playing it safe by recording what you already know, but trying to discover something new. That is where great photographers are born. Keep it up!
