Lake Pactola

An image I made while deer hunting in the Black Hills South Dakota. I'd got my deer, and took some time away to get some shots. I've finally made it into the darkroom to print for the first time in over a month!
Location
Lake Pactola Black Hills SD
Equipment Used
Great Hassel
Exposure
1/125 @ F3.5
Film & Developer
Kodak TXP in TMAX dev 1:4
Paper & Developer
FOMA 123 Variant in Ilford MG dev. Lightly bleached back, lightly sepia toned and finished in selenium
I love the lustre of the water and the undulations of the waves make it dynamic. Also, the background black hills give it a haunting mood.

this has the viewer so involved ... as though you were standing at eye level in the water ... great sense of presence ....

Lovely Andrew, and the tones from the TXP jump out here..a very distinctive film, applied to the maximum potential here. A great print. K

altough I don't like the combination of killing animals & fine photography; this is great ! nice small DOF with imminent clouds. Next moment a big hand coming out of the sky and stirrs the water, a booming voice roars: WTF are you doing to my creatures ? ;(
