lackawana dream - the last steel facility in Buffalo

This was the last operating steel facility in Buffalo NY when I took this photo in the fall of 07, operating as a finishing facility for Mittal Steel; now closed, I believe, so I am glad that I crawled under the fence and walked along the railway to get this picture of the spur track as it ran into the facility. When I was growing up (in the early 70's) my dad's employer would make all kinds of equipment sold to Buffalo steel mills, and some times in the summer I would be allowed to tag along with him for the day if he went down for an informal meeting with one of the customers.
