I think this sums up why I don't like scans of anything. You take a rich print that glows in real life and on my monitor it has nothing to do with the real thing. This print is hanging on the wall about 5 feet from my computer and is so much more alive that it makes this look like crap. Which it is definately not.
 
I'm sure it is much more in real life but I am so happy to see it in any form, It is my favorite of all of these. Of course I would love to see the real thing.
 
lee, nice series of photos. This one is classic. Would the photograph benefit from cropping off the dark object on the RH side, and having the light from the doorway spill more dramatically to the lower corner (if you have room on the negative)? Just a thought.

Dlin has it right. There's not much that we can really tell about quality photos from a scan, but what we can see here shows potential.
