I prefer this one to your other shot posted at the same time Bryan, but both are fine representations of what the Konica IR film could achieve. I'm interested in your processing time of 6 minutes as I still have a few rolls of this film in the fridge and have used semi-stand Rodinal at 1:100 for a result somewhat poorer than yours, and had shot at iso 3 through an IR72 Hoya filter. I'd appreciate your thoughts!

@Peter Black Thanks Peter, I think I like this film better than Kodak HIE. Konica said to shoot it at 1/60 f/5.6, I just opened it a stop to get to 1/100. I’m more comfortable shooting handheld at that speed. If you're willing to use a tripod maybe go the other way and shoot 1/30 at f/8. The reason for that is the IR light doesn’t focus exactly the same as visible light. I think they are giving the slowest speed they think people can shoot handheld to get the best depth of field for focus. I’m using these settings with a red filter, an IR filter would slow it a bit more.

The only reason I used Ilfosol 3 is because it was available in small quantities here in Honolulu, Ilford Simplicity Pack. I didn’t want to have a bunch of leftover developer when I went home. The dilution I used was 60ml developer to 540 ml distilled water. I looked at the development speeds for different films using Ilfosol 3 and made an educated guess at the development time. 6 minutes may have been a little too long but it worked pretty good. Not sure I would want to reduce it a whole minute, maybe 30 seconds at the most and see how that works. I often use Rodinal at home but may stick to the Ilfosol 3 for this film since it worked so well.

the most important thing for this film is bright sunlight at your back. The sun is much more intense here in the tropics, that probably helped a lot. I may have to wait for summer to shoot more when I get home. I live in the Pacific Northwest where we have a lot of fir and pine trees but I think leafy vegetation works better, at least that’s my experience with Kodak HIE.
