Kilby Mill

Dragged the 14x17 pile of wood and a couple sheets of xray film out to photograph an old, abandoned mill, then made a carbon transfer print. I usually visit this place once each in Spring and in Autumn.

Very nice work, pretty as a picture.
I recently acquired some 14x17 xray film and was wondering if you could give me some advice in using it also whats the focal length and pinhole size?

@awty I used my 600mm lens for this one. The print is actually way sharper than above reproduction. Shot it wide open. I use double-side green, developed with Pyrocat-HD (10ml of A and B in 1000ml water) in a flat-bottomed tray. I always shoot with either a yellow or light green filter.

Thank you for looking and commenting Ralph, awty, and bsdunek!

I remember noticing before that the lens you are using on your 14x17 ( was it a Reinny Schable special? ) had quite a lot of off-center aberrations... would be most extreme wide open! Wow, it really worked well for this, like an oil painting and the subject really stands out beautifully. Well done, wish I could see this in person. Makes me wonder too if this would be a candidate for multi-layer carbon (w/ some green and maybe a tiny bit of yellow or peach.... )
