Kiamichi Railroad Bridge

Kiamichi Railroad Bridge

Built prior to about 1910, this bridge across the Kiamichi River in Choctaw county, Oklahoma was originally a Frisco property, now operated by the Kiamichi Railroad. This is a pin-connected camelback truss, with deck truss approach spans. Remnants of an even older railroad bridge exist behind the photographers position.

I love photographing old bridges. Thanks for sharing this.

Love the "mecchano type" bridges. Choctaw county? Didn't Bobbie Gentry sing about someone up on Choctaw Ridge way back in about 1967/68. Or was this a different Choctaw? Then quite popular in the UK she was and attractive. Well popular with me and attractive as far as I was concerned. What's she doing now? Must be quite an old lady.

Funny that. I am still about 21 when I picture her singing the song.
