beautiful atmosphere to this portrait, its a good thing im not fred astaire ..
my main critique would be to stand about a foot or 2 back, or tilt the camera a teeny bit and get her feet in the image,
unless it is her dress you are photographing ...

There are various points that could be mentioned about this shot relating to composition. It could be argued that the camera could be angled to put the figure more to the right giving it a stronger outline against the misty wood in the background. Her right hand would look better more side on and as John mentioned the feet could be included. However, all these comments go out the window, as you have caught a specific moment in time with her look and the wind on her hair. Perhaps you could have cropped the picture just below the hand and to the left or right, but now we are destroying the integrity of the moment. A good arresting shot of a beautiful girl well done.
I like it, it looks like a modern catalog shot to sell the dress. The partially obstructed face, the barely visible smile and the eye looking right through the viewer, very alluring.
Absolutely lovely shot. I agree, the cropping of the feet is slightly unfortunate and I think a art director at a fashion mag would have been slightly bugged by the wrinkle on her fabric in her right elbow and above her right breast, but those are really details in my mind. I would love to have this shot in my portfolio. You should be really happy with this one. Congrats.
Interesting composition, I enjoy the slightly off-kilter feel which does a great job of drawing the viewer's eye to her face. Critique point: Her hands feel static to me, which detracts from the rest of the flow around the image (dress has implied motion, background is composed to keep viewer's eye moving around the frame, hair shows wind motion, etc). I'm a better critic than photog so I can't tell you how to get motion there but if you did it would put the image on another plane.Solid work!
Thanks guys for the feedback, Shooting full length is a new venture for me and I have a nasty habit of cutting off feet! LOL! I will work on trying different arrangements before I hit the shutter. Hands are always a struggle but I will work on it! Thanks Paul there's a couple more from this shoot here http://www.flickr.com/photos/thepaulreid/
