Kaidan

Kallitype of abandoned clothes factory. I took a few casual snaps here, 15 years ago. It sits next to one of the abandoned coal mines that I love to photograph. I was surprised to see that it was still standing. This time I explored it with my TravelWide 4x5.

My impression is somewhat colored/informed by your stunning shots of the Manda coal mine. This carries all the feel of discovery of a lost mine/factory, overgrown & now found. The IR seems to light up the foliage & emphasize how it obscures old history.

Even without knowing the history you have with this site, I still really like this image. The door beyond looks like it is being protected by the mass of foliage in front.
