This is my daughters Journal. I returned to our house 3 times before I could find it. I started it when she was born and didn't want her to loose it. I photographed in our travel trailer, early on. This one of the first photographs I made after the storm.
Donald thanks again. I was hesitant to post this one, its very personal. Its also staged, meaning I did not photograph it as I found it. I love it for personal reasons but Im not sure to include it my project.
Great job Sam. It is a pleasure to see this series unfold. In referance to staging things, I think as long as you make this known where it happens that it is completely acceptable.
Staged, in this instance, simply means it's become a still life and a damn good one at that. Your series is not only excellent, it's important! Great work.
Sam,
You're building an impressive and important body of work. A lot of what you are doing must hurt deeply and be uncomfortable. But is is important, not only to me but to my children and grandchildren. Stay with it. Don't let us loose it. It is too important.
Sam, First of all thank you for sharing this. I continue to be deeply moved by all of these images. I can only echo what others have already said with reagard to the importance and signifigance of this body of work.
