I do wish that some one would write some simple Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 instructions for sizing images for this. I had the scan of this image, it looked fine on the computer. I changed the image size to conform to requirements for posting, i.e. 850 x 750 pixels, max 550kb, still looked good, and tried to load it. I got a message that informed me that my "graphic is too tall" and please use a smaller one.
I don't know why, but most times, the sizes are assumed landscape style. So 600x480 is 600 width (long side) and 480 height (short side).
If you are doing portrait mode, I would go something like 800 or 700 on the height, and let the software take care of the width. So figure out which is the longest side, make it 600 or 700 or 800 and let the software do the rest. At least, that's how I do it. You'll probably get better suggestions.
Love the photo BTW. I'm a sucker for pictures with 4 legged friends.
