I really like this, but I have to disagree with TTPhotog. I think the girl walking distracts from the image for me.
This thing about night shots is you exposure needs to be right on to get a good print.
It looks like your spot on to me.
Wow,
I like this kind of "stuff" yes when I saw the thumbnail I immediately thought Ed Hopper....this would be a nice series study...the girl walking fits in with idea that the cafe is yet full....as the evening wears into night and early a.m. you will have only a few souls in the cafe and only light from the cafe window occupying the street outside....as in the Hopper painting...good job! thanks, I got a kick out of that.
I think this photograph would work with or without the girl. Without, there is plenty going on in the diner to keep the eye occupied. It also asks the question "Is this the photographer's favourite place to eat? With the girl, that's a whole different story, she looks like she is really striding along with a purpose, she has no jacket or handbag/purse. Has she just stormed out after and argument with her partner or was the food not up to sctatch (were the eggs not over easy enough), maybe she is a waitress and is just nipping out to buy change as the till is running short. then again maybe my imagination is doing over time again???!!! PS Ive added this to my favourites
