I took this yesterday. We were at a Camp Ground in Green Lake, WI. This guy came walking by with that Mustache, and asked if I could take his photo. He was happy too. I just started with this 1947 or so Speed Graphic. I wish I had done a better job getting his eyes in focus. next time.

I particularly like the expression.

One thing though. The background almost gives the impression of a really wild hairstyle on the subject - particularly in the "thumbnail" in the APUG sidebar.
 
I have to find maybe a brighter Ground glass. It does have a fresnel, and I have taken it apart and cleaned it, so it's not just dirty. It is the original viewscreen. Has anyone ever used a different ground glass on these speed graphics ?

You can probably deal with it easily with some printing manipulations - adjusting the relative tones of the foreground and background, and maybe a boost in foreground contrast (split contrast).
Or for fun, you could make it even more obvious .
