Japanese Interior

About 30 seconds before I clicked the shutter, the most amazing beams of sunlight came through that door on the right towards the rear of the house. I was too busy changing lenses and fiddling with the right framing. At least I caught a little bit of the light!

just to see the light play against the textures and geometric intricacies are a wonderful photograph.

It's so hard to tell what's what with digital scans, but...how are the tones in the bottom foreground -- the pillows and mats on the left and right hand side?
At least on my screen, their brightness is distracting and not harmonious with the whole image, which otherwise is quite lovely. Maybe take them down just a bit?

Thanks for the kind words.

Colin: Point well taken - I agree that the front foreground is too bright relative to the rest of the areas. I was actually positioned outside of the house - the front doors of the house were completely open, so the mats and pillows, which are white, are getting more than their fair share of light. Also, this was a straight scan from a proof print done from a custom B&W lab, so no burning in was done. When I can get access to a darkroom, I will try printing this myself.
