Jan Wet Silk

Jan Wet Silk

This print was probably the most successful print I had when selling through galleries. It was shot in my studio in Rochester NY around 1997. The studio was above a fabric store, so I used to buy remnants at a discount and use them in the work. This was a piece of silk I sprayed down with water. I shot this in Winter, and as I recall, the studio rarely made it above 55 degrees. Jan soldiered on, but stood next to the single heat register whenever I broke to reload.

Voof!!! That one has my attention!. I know what you mean about *cold* studios. I've worked in those places where all we had for heat were those 1500W quartz heaters in the depths of winter - and we kept tripping circuit breakers. Color balance was difficult - not because of the lighting... the model. herself, kept turning blue.
This is am *arresting, fascinating* photograph ... INTENSE(!!) but at the same time, NOT "pornograhic". Bravo!!
I gotta try that!! - And that is the highest complimeant I can give.

Don,

I do have to say "WOW" that is one nice image, it draws in right into it, very nice, I like it.

Don, this is really very impressive! Is is a statue, the torso of a healthy women? Please don't tell us and leave us in our imagination.

This is a fantastic shot, and fabulously contrived. Studio work doesn't usually attract my eye unless it's something really special, and all I can say about this one is WOW!
