I could be wrong but I think they're part of the old atlantic wall at Normandy and Brian had them moved(and cleaned up)to California for this image-either that or they're really big jax for really big kids.Man I don't want to see the size of the ball that comes in the pack!
hehe, yes, watch out for the ball! They are the shore protection around the Santa Cruz harbor, the keep the ocean from washing away the lighthouse that is about 20' to the left of this shot.
Yes, well exposed and given that the tide was at your feet you probably couldn't get much closer. I can't help but think there must be quite a few interesting close-up shots available there, too. I can see some just from this one view. If you moved in close I'd bet you'd get some nice images.
Technically this is a goot image, but I think artistically there is more to be had here. Have you ever gone back? Did you take more close-ups that day?
