Scary good, Andrew - all your stuff is amazing and diverse. The light and shadows are so perfect. Making a 8x10 unsharp mask, registration, and contact printing seems a complication that pays back in huge reward in the final print.

@HiHoSilver thank you for commenting! I always appreciate your words. This town went through a very sad time. During the mines operation (many lives were lost from explosions, to forced labour of POW's) over a century and after it closed down. For me the site is a monument to all those who toiled in those deep dark shafts.

At one time, there were several coal mines in operation. The island of Kyushu had many. I lived near them. Many of them had been around since the 19th century. The last one shut down (Manda) in '97.
