For several years I have camped near Jack at an annual telescope convention with his 6-inch Alvan Clark refractor built in the 1870's. He obliged me by allowing me to take a picture with my very modern Rolleiflex T... heck it's 4 score years newer than his scope. I've seen superb views of Saturn and Jupiter thru this vintage scope. It's amazing how well it performs compared to much more current scopes with flourite / ED elements.
Same can be said for a simple Tessar lens in the Rolleiflex. Don't need no stinkin' aspherics, ED, VR, IS, USM, alphabet soup lenses.
