I am a real fan of industrial decay which always has to be in B&W in my opinion and this is well taken. The only problem I can see is what appears to be an unsupported stone arch disappearing into the lowest arch of the lift. It appears this way, I suspect, because lift arch is totally black. A little bit of shadow detail here might have prevented this stone arch appearing to be suspended in mid air.
Of course it could be the scan. The print may reveal just enough shadow detail.
This is definitely the more striking of the shots taken at Blaenavon compared to the blast furnace. Possibly because of the one main imposing item, namely the lift, but more probably because of the light conditions. However the large subject brightness range is both a help and a hindrance as printing becomes more difficult in terms of capturing the range.
I am no expert myself when it comes to printing but I'd go with this kind of shot everytime and risk some featureless shadow as opposed to the safer lower subject brightness range.
These industrial scenes need recording and your prints will grow in historical importance as the years pass.
