IR or not IR

Just messing around to see what IR effects I could get.
Location
Vernon Rockville, CT, USA
Equipment Used
Mamiya 7 II, 150mm Lens, in camera meter
Exposure
1/30 at f/11?
Film & Developer
Ilford SFX in Ifsol 3 for 6 minutes Rotary
Paper & Developer
Epson Scan
Is this print for sale?
  1. Yes
Stone:I really like the photograph, but I have to assume (based on 1/30 at f/11) that you were using the camera without an IR filter, so the likelihood of getting any IR exposure is pretty minimal. And a cold, snowy day may not be the best either (for IR).

Stone: you tricked me! All the white in the trees and on the grass isn't IR foliage but plain snow??

Lovely shot even if it is not IR.

Wow, Stone. Very nice job. Really nice detail in both the snow and shadows - not so easy to do with scanning, is it?

Well done!

Correct, no filter, but still IR film, I'm sure some of the wood has a slight IR effect, but obviously not as heavy as with a filter.

It's really easy when you expose properly

Sorry... it's technically IR film though... :smile:And thanks to everyone else for the encouragement and appreciation, I'm trying... I did shoot some frames with an IR filter, I wanted to see the difference, the light was slightly overcast and the IR images were under-exposed as I forgot I needed to add more stops for this kind of light than a sunny day with IR, and of course the framing wasn't as good as this one. I actually forgot to export this image properly... so the APUG server re-sized it, and when it did, of course it gave a bad reticulation, I keep meaning to fix it and upload a proper image, it's not terrible but obvious to me.
