I had another set up that I had just finished. It was a 10 minute exposure an I scouted around a bit. As I came back to close the shutter I saw this Joshua Tree and the interesting patterns inside. The light was starting to fade and I got set up quickly. The print has potential. This is the first print. Again this is with the 14" TRT.
This is lovely, Jim, I almost get an impression of glowing from the tendril-like fibers. Beautiful capture, with caligraphic forms sort of floating through there. Remarkably long exposure at f/32- what did you do, take the thing inside, out of the wind?! Really well done.
Keith, thanks. The wind was helpful. The fibers were inside of the Joshua Tree and they caught my eye as I passed by. They seemed to glow from the inside. They were protected from the slight breeze. The print has a very nice look to it. I was concerned with camera movement with the bellows out to about 21" of extension. Looks ok to me.
Rhys and Gavin, thanks for the comments. Rhys, I am playing around with the cropping idea. Thanks. I tried cropping the image and it looses it's balance. It works the way it is.
