During the same LFUG outing last weekend. We were heading down to a local diner when I spotted this incredible jumble of "stuff" at the back door of a restaurant. It's probably not much of a composition, but it caught my eye. I was pleased at how the film/developer combo held both the hightlights and detail into the dark shadows.
what a great bunch of stuff ..
the perfect metaphor for life
its what no one ever sees
(or wants to see)
we only really want to see the frontside of the restaurant
The mop is what got my attention at first as well. The bricks are a deep red colour. Should be an interesting print to do in the darkroom. This scan is pretty much untouched, no dodging and burning etc. Just a very slight tweak on the curve. On my wife's laptop it looks a bit washed out but on my main computer that has a calibrated screen it looks much better.
There are so many different ways I could print this neg. I could go for the dark industrial disease look ala Bladerunner, print is lith, gee it's endless. But then again maybe it's not worth the effort at all. Ummmm
