The clouds have been amazing here lately and all I want to do is shoot in infrared. I'm still working on technique and figuring out when the best time to shoot to get that 'look'. So here goes... another upload... (this is a negative scan - the only print I made was 16x20 - too big for my scanner)
Thank you Tony and Shmoo, I wasn't sure this was a "sky line", but it sort of is. I miss this film too. I think I have three more rolls, then it's off to Efke & Rollei (IR)
Really lovely. Based on the scan I would like to see a little more seperation in the top 1/3 of the image, particularly in the area of the buildings. Either way this a wonderful print! All the best. Shawn
Thank you Shawn,
when you say separation in the top 3rd, do mean more detail in the shadows? If so I think I agree, the buildings are a bit dark.
Thank you sly, this is my first attempt at printing a 16x20. I love printing big. Since I've been using this camera & my Rollei I don't want to shoot 35mm anymore, and now I don't want to print 11x14 anymore. Bigger seams to be so much more impactful (?)
It has been a good week. Today I learned to develop with stainless steel tanks.
Dorothy,
Sort of, If this was the result I got from graded paper I would switch to multi grade and split grade this.... Trying to match the bottom and giving less highlight exposure (yellow)to the top 1/3 and the row of trees/fence on the left. This would increase the contast in that area of the print a bit.
I also bear in mind I'm looking at a reproduction... and it's beautiful this way as well! All the best. Shawn
