Industrial Tanks 2

Industrial Tanks 2

Taken on the same day as the other industrial tanks. On this one I wanted to keep the detail of the tank in shadow. I just love steps that wrap round tanks! Wierd.
This is pretty much a staight print except the left tank is burned about 2/3 stop. The light line that follows the contour of the steps is a combination of reflected light of the rail and a worn patch from people walking up. Its not a burning artifact! Honest!

Great texture and lines, I do wish there was some more detail in the highlights though.

I just looked at the original and the highlights are indeed a little bare. A reason for this is probably that the shadow detail was placed at zone 3.5 in the neg but I liked the image better with the print at Zone 5. This would have shifted the highlights up as well. Maybe a judicious burn will bring some life there. I will give it a try. Thanks for your comment

I can tell it's a hard negative to print, with all the different grades. The top highlights look fine, it's tho bottom area that stands out.

There used to be a LOT of tanks like this back in Brooklyn. Way back then, I never saw a picture in them. Obviously, you did. Very well done.
