Independence Day; Church of Christ

Since moving to southwest Virginia I have become interested in the many small churches scattered throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains. Why are there so many, so close together? How do they survive?

I have begun exploring the subject to see if it interests me enough to develop a series, or even a body of work (however those two descriptions differ...)

The Church of Christ New Haven is tiny, and apparently does not even have indoor plumbing, but was nonetheless decorated to celebrate the birthday of the USA on Wednesday.

Comments, as always, are appreciated.
