Like this one Suzanne! Great highlight on the hair. Works well with the sepia. I love the way the shadows diffuse when done in this way. I tried the same method with a landscape I'd posted some time back. Didn't really like the full on diffuse effect, but got nice results with removing the diffuser for the remaining 1/3rd of the exposure.
I like this very much, the other one too, but for me the colours and diffusion really suit this one. It looks almost like sepia/gold. The diffusion works really well here softening the strong sunlight. Great subject/composition of course, as always!
And yes, Blighty, I found that I made the base exposure with the diffusion, did a little light burn top, bottom and sides without the diffusion, and also gave it a few seconds exposure on a 5 filter (well, for me... 200 magenta) without the diffusion so I could deepen the blacks somewhat. I think giving the print some exposure without the diffusion just gives it a bit more.. I dunno...ummmph... Now there's a nice technical term!
