In the Ruins

Snapped years ago while touring the Blist's Hill open air museum in England. Still can't figure out what the girl and draft horse were doing there. Thanks for looking!

She is a bit dressed up to go horse riding, perhaps it's an ad for what Lady Godiva would wear today!

Nice colour shot though, if you crop out the top left Window (?) it seems to have a nicer balance, at least that is what I think.

I think you may be right about the crop, Mick. I was thinking about getting all the ruinous texture, but of course, the real subject is the horse (and the girl), and these would be better positioned if cropped as you suggest. I do think that I stumbled upon some sort of calendar shoot, so maybe your notion of a Godiva conformed to contemporary taste standards is right. It's easy to say that she is over-dressed. Less is more!

And, she's riding side saddle. Very interesting. I like the brick, etc., in the upper left. I would leave it alone.

She is riding bare back and side saddle - very bizzar

Blist Hill is a terrific place for photographs if you can focus yourself on details
